so far in my #cliqueart journey i’ve drawn lyrical-focused versions of trench and blurryface. going backwards in album releases we come to 2013 and the band’s Fueled by Ramen label debut – Vessel.
perhaps one of their most genre-bending and powerfully-messaged albums, Vessel is a fan favorite for good reason.
the aesthetic and theme colors for Vessel are grey, blue and white … surprisingly calm compared to the brutally honest emotion, introspective content, and desperate screaming of the music.
i tried to capture that contrast in my drawing … and although the design is fairly simple, i hope it did some justice.
and there’s no forgetting Grandpa Robert and Grandpa Earl … an iconic album cover for an iconic duo. once a friend’s mother asked her, “Are you seriously gonna put a picture of two old men on your wall?” those who know how beautiful and powerful vessel is will hang it with pride. as for me, I have two on my wall now 😉
I kept with my tradition and drew all of my album covers on the back of a chemistry quiz XD

Thank you so much! I started doodling the trench one during chemistry class on the back of a quiz and I loved it when I finished it … then my fren suggested that I do one for each album. Now all I need to do is Regional at Best and I would LOVE any ideas you might have for it … i’m kinda stuck as of right now XD thanks for stopping in! 🙂

Aww I’ve seen how you can be crafty! I’m sure you have it in you:)
that’s hard … i love songs like lovely and kitchen sink and the whole electro-vibe of the whole album. and the messages from songs like ruby and clear and beautiful. it needs its own unique style, though, even though it has songs that are on vessel. this one will be a little tougher to design XD
